General Labor
The entry-level position of General Labor in our mill offers an opportunity for you to join
a group that embraces innovation, continuous improvement while safely producing
quality lumber products. Our general laborers play a key role in maintaining the
location’s operations by sweeping, shoveling, pulling lumber chain, packaging lumber
for shipment, and more.
The General labor position is often the first step in learning new skills or applying your
experience and knowledge to the sawmill setting. The General labor position prepares
you to move into other positions or departments, including forklift and machinery
operator roles, maintenance or skilled trades such as saw filing and grading.
Wage – $18/Hour
Your accountabilities…
• Work in a safe manner.
• Be able to do repetitive work for a minimum of 10 hrs. a day.
• Keep up with the current flow of production.
• Be able and willing to learn new positions in a short period of time.
• Possess good communication skills and work well in a team setting.
• Demonstrate thoroughness and attention to detail with a strong sense of
urgency.
Your qualifications…
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs and move equipment as needed
• Basic computer skills required.
• Team player and highly self-motivated individual.
