San Carlos Apache Tribal Police
The mission of the San Carlos Apache Tribal Police Department is “to ensure that professional, effective, and efficient law enforcement services are provided for the San Carlos Apache Reservation, utilizing accepted law enforcement techniques and practices. These services shall provide for protection of lives and property for persons visiting, residing or traveling within the exterior boundaries of the San Carlos Apache Reservation.”
The Tribe’s P.L. 93-638 Program funds the salaries for the Chief of Police, (2) two Police Lieutenants, (4) four Police Sergeants, (35) thirty-five Police Officers, (3) three Detectives, (10) ten dispatchers, (4) four Police Administration staff members, and the daily operations cost for the Police Department.
