Bylas District

Bylas District is located in Bylas, Arizona. It is the most eastern district of the San Carlos Apache Tribe and lies in the basin of Mt. Turnbull. There are several public employers within the District such as the Tribe itself, the San Carlos Healthcare, the District Enterprise, and local schools. The District contains several parks and recreation facilities including baseball fields, basketball courts (indoor and outdoor), a boys and girls club, and various sites containing playground equipment.
The name derives from chief Baylish or also known as Bylas.
Population
It is home to about 3,568 residents. It is roughly 30 miles from the Town of Safford, 117 miles from the City of Mesa, and 140 miles from the City of Tucson. All acreage of this district resides in Graham County, Arizona. The Bylas District is composed of several components including housing subdivisions, along with some scattered residential units. Housing subdivisions include Ready to Go, Rainbow City, Ocotillo, Rising Sun and scattered residential units.
Enterprise
The District Enterprise consists of the Mt. Turnbull Apache Market, The Wickiup Grill, Yucca Laundromat, and various property management suites.
