Gilson Wash District Councilman Simon Hooke

Simon Hooke was elected to the San Carlos Tribal Council in November of 2010. Prior to being elected as the Gilson Wash District Councilman, Simon served 11 years in the United States Military. He then worked as an Outside Plant Manager for the San Carlos Apache Telecommunication Utility Inc.
Councilman Hooke is a lifetime advocate for equestrian activities, which has led him to Rodeo and 4-H. In addition, Mr. Hooke has been an integral part of the San Carlos Apache Tribe’s Annual Veteran’s Fair and Rodeo Commission. Since then, Mr. Hooke has created and advocated for multiple rodeo events throughout the San Carlos Apache Reservation.
Mr. Simon Hooke’s goals for serving his district are to continue with the community and economic development. Mr. Hooke’s current focus is to add to the existing Gilson Wash Activity Center to include an aquatic center, community spaces, business expansion for Gilson Wash District Economic Enterprise, and Subdivision housing.
