Mission statement
The Finance Department’s major areas of responsibility include budget management, payroll, purchasing, fixed assets, accounting, accounts receivable, investments, and financial reporting.
Our Mission:
● To manage and maintain financial records in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and in compliance with State and Federal laws.
● To safeguard the assets of the San Carlos Apache Tribe.
● To develop and maintain effective and efficient financial planning, reporting and central support systems in order to assist the operating departments in achieving their program objectives.
● To provide the Tribal Council with financial information on a timely and meaningful basis.
● To provide respectful quality service in our relations with tribal members of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, our customers, vendors, tribal department personnel and Tribal Council.

Finance services
We conduct numerous financial services, including:
● Internal controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of all financial transactions
● Cash-we record tribal cash receipts/disbursements daily
● Payroll-process/print biweekly tribal employee paychecks
● Accounts Payable-process/print vendor invoices for tribal purchases
● Accounts Receivable-we collect monies owed to the Tribe
● Account reconciliations-to reinforce accuracy & accountability for tribal transactions
Financial Statements-Monthly the Tribal Treasurer presents financial information to the Council.
