The Office of the Vice Chairman

Tao Etpison was elected to the San Carlos Tribal Council as Vice Chairman in November of 2014 and previously served as Gilson Wash District Councilman for 12 years. Mr. Etpison had served as Chairman of Law an Order Committee and Water Board, Vice-Chairman of Housing Authority and member of Education Committee, Health and Welfare Committee, Recreation and Wildlife Commission, Investment and Employee Benefits Committee, Finance Committee, and Gaming liaison. Prior to holding elected positions, Mr. Etpison had an extensive career in practicing Tribal Law. His experiences range from Tribal Chief Prosecutor to Chief Judge. He was the Tribal prosecutor for Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, San Carlos Apache, and Tonto Apache Tribe. Additionally, he was a judge for the Yavapai Apache Nation and appellate judge for Tonto Apache Tribe.
